The Kenyan literary giant and novelist. Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o’s A Grain of Wheat was first published as part of the African Writers Series under Heinemann Publications. The book was written while Ngugi was studying at Leeds University and the story is set in the period of the Mau Mau rebellion.
